Study of Deficiency Functional Syndromes of the Liver by Cause of Five Diseases in Oriental Medicine

Abstract
|
|
|
The main purpose of this thesis is to prescribe syndromes of disease in the liver and to analyze the syndromes of disease in the liver by five pathogenic factors, which is significant to classify various symptoms and signs of disease in the five organs. The analysis of syndromes that have been given in the several ways, fall into the results as nine types. It was as follows.
1. There were thirty one symptoms to be prescribed as syndromes of disease in the liver. For instance, exude tears, giddiness, black flame of eye, scrotum constraction, blue face, sensation of the face, full sensation of both hypochondrium, tense and distending sensation of the hypochondrium. thin and drying fingernail, insomnia due to restlessness, headache, drying eye, chest and hypochondriac pain and conducting sensation of the low back, lumbago, abnormal menstruation, blue finger nail, muscular spasm, inability of deep breathing, susceptible to fear and imagination that somebody is about to catch me, imagination that one s body is small and narrow, susceptible to cleanness, diminution of vision, photophobia, night blindness, good appetite for acid thing, fullness sensation, unfavorable sensation in the chest, stiffness of both hypocondrium, bad condition and restlessness of body, physical paralysis and numbness, limited movement of the joints.
2. There were four symptoms of classifying the disease cause attacking from his parent of the syndromes of the liver, for instance, giddiness, black flame of eye, scrotum constraction, exude tears.
3. Symptoms which belonged to the disease cause attacking from child of the syndromes of the liver were thirteen, for instance, scorching, sensation of the face, exude tears, full sensation of both hypochondrium, tense and distending sensation of the hypochondrium, insomnia due to restlessness, headache, abnormal menstruation, blue face, thin and drying fingernail, giddiness, drying eye, chest and hypochondriac pain and conducting sensation of the low back, lumbago.
4 . There were twenty four symptoms which belonged to disease cause attacking from itself of the syndromes of the liver, for instance. blue face, exude tears, blue fingernail, muscular spasm, inability of deep breathing, imagination that one´s body is small and narrow, susceptible to cleanness, giddiness, diminution of vision, photophobia, drying eye, night blindness, good appetite for acid thing, stiffness of both hypocondrium, scrotum constraction. bad condition and restlessness of body, limited movement of the joints, susceptible to fear and imagination that somebody is about to catch me, fullness sensation, unfavorable sensation in the chest, chest and hypochondriac pain and conducting sensation of the low back, chest pain, abnormal menstruation, physical paralysis and numbness.
5. There were two kinds of symptoms that belonged to the disease cause attacking from subjugation of the syndromes of the liver, for instance, full sensation of both hypochondrium, tense and distending sensation of the hypochondrium.
6. As symptoms that belonged to disease cause attacking from reverse restriction of the syndromes of the liver, there were six kinds of symptoms, for instance, full sensation of both hypochondrium, thin and drying fingernail, bad condition and restlessness of body, chest and hypochondriac pain and conducting sensation of the low back, chest pain. tense and distending sensation of the hypochondrium.
7. There were twenty two symptoms which were not syndromes of disease cause in the liver , for instance, full sensation of stenocostal, abdominal distention, desquamation, falling off of the hair, deficiency of qi, mental uncleanness, susceptible to sorrow, anxiety and not happy, deafness, ring in the ear, drying and bitter mouth, loss of appetite, continuous palpitation, the upper abdomen pain, pain of the umbilical region, lumbago, weakness of waist and foot, coldness of the limbs, itching, alternate attacks of chills and fever, physical paralysis and numbness, palpitation above the umbilicus and sturdy like pain when pressed.
8. The rate of 31 symptoms for the 53 syndromes of disease in the liver was 58.4 percent, and the rate of 24 symptoms which belonged to disease cause attacking from itself was 12.9 percent, the rate of 13 symptoms which belonged to the disease cause attacking from child was 41.9 percent, the rate of 6 symptoms which belonged to disease cause attacking from reverse restriction was 19.2 percent, the rate of 4 symptoms which belonged to disease cause attacking from his parent was 12.9 percent, finally the rate of two symptoms which belonged to disease cause attacking from subjugation was 6.5 percent.
9. The rate of 22 symptoms which were excluded from the syndromes of disease in the liver was 41.5 percent. These symptoms were absorbed by complicated accompanied and altered, or they appeared by disease cause of the liver.
